If your wall is smooth, clean, fully dry, and painted with standard interior paint, you’re very likely good to go.
✅ Quick Wall Check (tick these)
- Smooth surface (no texture)
- Paint is solid (not chalky, not flaking)
- Wall is dry (not humid/steamy)
- Paint is at least 30 days old
If you ticked all → You’re good.
⚠️ Paints that can be tricky (not always “no”)
Some paints are designed to repel moisture or stains, which can reduce adhesion:
- Washable / scrubbable / stain-resistant
- Bathroom / anti-mould / moisture-blocking
- Very matte / chalky finishes
❌ Not recommended
- Textured walls (orange peel, heavy roller texture, bumps/ridges)
- Flaking, cracked, dusty, or powdery paint
- Damp/humid walls or areas that stay steamy (e.g., right next to showers)
🧼 Final Checklist Before You Stick
- Clean the Surface: Wipe down with a dry cloth (no chemicals!) to remove dust.
- Wait 30 Days: If you’ve just painted, let the gas escape so the adhesive stays strong.
- Test First: Always test a small corner before applying the full decal.
Please note: all walls are different. We can’t guarantee adhesion on every paint type or be responsible for paint damage. Please patch test first and follow prep instructions. See our [FAQ] for removal tips. Refunds/replacements aren’t available for issues caused by incompatible paint/surfaces or incorrect preparation/application.
